Hi all, new comer here with a couple of Q's re o/d fees & interest charges
Hi folks, first post here I have a couple of questions for you that I hope you can help me with.
I have recently fallen on hard times and been forced to claim benefits (JSA) Unfortunately I'm only entitle to NI contributions, which means I have no income whatsoever atm.
My bank (Natwest) insists on charging me interest of £28.00 per month on my current account overdraft which seems very unfair. I have left messages and emails with my bank manager to call me back regarding this matter, but he has never bothered to call back. Is there any way I could get my bank to freeze or even lower the charges until I find work?
Also, I have recently been charged £38.00 for being £2.00 overdrawn on the same account. Would it be possible to get this charge returned? If so, what steps do I need to take?

Hi Lander,
Welcome to the forum,
You may be able to get single charges removed simply by asking in your branch. There is a discretion for banks to be able to waive single charges when asked.
If you have incurred charges before this time its worth sending a SAR to find out how much you have paid and then claim these back. Have a read through the step-by step instructions in the FAQs.
If you are not happy with the amount you bank is charging you can always change accounts.
