I have just had rather a long telephone conversation with three mobile following several phones calls from them where the member of staff calls and says
" Hello my name is xxx from 3, please can you tell me your password?"
Duh!!! I then say that there is no way I am giving my password to someone who has called me and they say I have to for security purposes! What sort of security is this???
I point out that you should never give your password to someone that calls you and they then proceed to ask for my date of birth and address...
This has happened on several occasions and it is really hard to make them understand that you are not telling them to protect your security. Usually I have telephoned them back and made a fleeting comment about it but tonight the lady was so rude when i wouldn't disclose my password thta I rang and made a complaint (for what it's worth). I have previously complained about this in writing but never had a reply.
Surely with regards to data Protection it should be up to them to prove to me they are who they say they are when THEY have called me and not the other way round.
Am I missing something here?? Has anyone else experienced this with 3 or any other company?
Cheers
Deb
