Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am at the very beginning of this journey and all I know at the moment is that I owe approximately £1,300 on my card. I haven't used it in 2 years, when the account was suspended, it was often over the limit or had late payments, details of which I don't have as yet. I do however have a question or two.
Firstly, the account is in the hands of the Recovery Dept, although a zero balance shows on their screen, I suspect this is in the hands of an agency currently, if not for some time. A large percentage of my debt is down to interest charges and fees. How do I get this S.A.R - (Subject access request)? Does anyone have an address to write to at Barclaycard.
Secondly, if it is in the hands of an agency, how can I proceed without getting knocks on my girlfriends door, threatening phone calls and exacerbated interest charges from the agency
How long can a claim for unfair charges go back, as there were always late payment fines on this card.
Finally, this payment protection plan, is this claimable?

Re: Roughly £1,300
Send your SAR to Barclaycard, the address will be on your statements.
Once you get your small claim in, you wont get anymore hassle from them as the account will be in legal dispute.
For now, write to Barclaycard and tell them you dispute the total they claim you owe them due to unlawfully applied charges and interest levied thereon.
(Yes, you can claim back the interest they [problem]med you into paying them)
