Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Make sure you have your parachute account ready - you probably know they will close your account. For that sort of money it's worth it though so good luck.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Yesterday I received the standard letter from the Alliance & Leicester saying they were 'very sorry to learn of your disappointment', and include their unhelpful leaflet about how they handle complaints.
Does anyone know if I were to transfer my account to another bank now would it affect my claim and possible court action in any way?
It would make no difference whatsoever.
If you would have trouble opening a 'regular' current account then see this thread for details of 'basic' accounts you may wish to consider opening.

Hope you're not gonna hang about too long on this dude - don't want to panic you but I've just read "Lady Penelope's" thread and they appear to have closed her account after her prelim approaches [unless it was over something unrelated to her claim, but it seems too much of a coincidence to me].
Is it worth the risk, just for the sake of being slow to act?
If you've already taken action, forgive my intrusion! Just lookin out for a fellow victim.
I received my second letter today from the A&L today. It was a standard letter explaining how their charges are clearly shown, etc. I assume this is the response most people get after their first letter?
I am currently preparing my letter before action, which will be sent before the end of the week.
I have also applyed for a new bank account with another bank.

I had no problems until today. The status of my case went from ‘Awaiting Verification’ to ‘Queried’. I have two options on their system now ‘On-Line Response To Query’ (a blank form) and ‘Covering Letter’ (a blank letter template).
I am unsure what to do next. I intend phoning the Belfast office in a few days if I haven’t received any documentation in the post.
Has anyone here had any experience of this? Or am I missing something simple? Any advice would be most helpful.
