Thread: EGG Credit Card

I was just wondering what you can claim back when it comes to credit cards...

I have just gone through mine for 3 years and I have seen a few occasions every month when they take a wad of cash off me but are they allowed to do this and what can I claim back??

On my statements they are down as...

1. Credit Card Repayment Protector (this varies from £8.09 - £28.09)
2. Merchandise interest (£0.55 - £46.11)
3. Unpaid DD (£16)
4. Overlimit charge (£16)

Which of the above can I claim back and which are they totally just to charge me???

Any ideas?

Did you ask for the payment Protection ?

Not sure about the merchandise interest think that's just interest (but I may be wrong)

yes that would be interest on purchases which would be part of your credit agreement,

no 1 is PPI and it is reclaimable under certain conditions, it would need to be missold to you

you would be better off posting in the PPI forum for advice on that aspect


so 3 & 4 are definatley reclaimable, 2 is not and 1 depends on the circumstances surrounding how you entered into it

Thank you for your help. I didn't think the interest was claimable, but I didn't request Payment Protection so I'll look into that.
