Thread: Richard's old account

When he was a baby I opened an account with RBA for my oldest. This became dormant some years ago and in April 2007 be wrote to the BBA who replied 08/05/07 that they were forwarding his details to the bank. He was supposed to hear from the RBS within 3 months but time went on and he heard nothing. Come September they said they would either update his account details or the money would be paid into my account (but I bank with the Halifax). Within the last month he has been told 2 different stories - unfortunately verbal - nothing in writing and I think enough is enough. Any suggestions as to his best course of action.

A final letter of complaint if no satisfactory response then take it up with the Ombudsman.

Thanks but a cheque arrived a few days ago. I should have updated then. In the spirit of the letters in library I had drafted a strong letter to them which I presume did the trick. Nice for him for Christmas - my poor penniless student. He might have a part-time job at the cinema soon fingers crossed.
