Default alliance &leicester taking child tax credits

hi, im wanting some advice i have sent a&l lbaicon then had a look around on site and realised the only money that had been going into this account was my child tax credit.
to cut a long story short they closed my account due to it going over my overdrafticon the only reason it went over the overdraft was due to them taking charges out.
so i looked around site wrote a new letter about the act of parliment and social security benefits.
only thing is i was in such a flap realised child tax credit is not a social security benefit, they have sent me a letter saying they will investigate.
in the meanwhile i have reported them to fosicon.
have i done wrong or am i on the right tracks??

I am not an expert on the benefits side - but as what you have done has cost you nothing - just a couple of letters then you have nothing to lose. Have you also done the standard letters/proceedure about the charges?

A&L have been fined in the past for closing accounts - and if all the OD was charges this may apply.

Are they chasing you for the monies owing on the account or have you sorted that out?

Please note I am not an expert - I am not offering opinions or legal help - Please use all the information provided on the site in FAQ- step by step instructions and library- thanks Jansus
