Hello there.
I booked an holidayabout 3 weeks ago, over the phone.
They said I would only have to pay £99 deposit which I did on my visa, the rest of the holiday would be payable at various dates. But then my wife had to stop working. I rung up to cancel but they informed us we would still have to pay the balance of the deposit which amounts to approx. £600.
I was unaware that £99 was only part of the deposit and this was not explained to me over the phone. Also I never recieved the terms and conditionsthey said they sent us to sign, so nothing has been signed.
I have tried to explain this to them but they say they have now paid the hotel the full deposit of £699 and need us to refund them. They also said that we have entered into a verbal agreement. But the only thing I was aware to agreeing to was the £99. Where do I stand? Please help.
