hi,this is my first post and i need some help now that i`ve finally realised that i can take a stand against nat west,I have an advantage gold account,in march 05 i took out a loan with Natwest, after which they stopped my £1800 overdraft(without my knowledge or permission) in september05 my account got overdrawn (as i was not aware that the o/d had been stopped)I recieved my statement and on seeing the numerous £38 charges went to the bank to see what was going on,it was only then i was told the o/d had been stopped in march,I asked if i could have it reinstated or even a lesser amount as obviously my account was spiralling outta control, she told me no as i was deemed a risk as account was in the red, when i asked her what she suggested i do she offered me a netwest credit card!I refused, saying i want to get out of debt not get into more.she basically said theres nowt she cud do.constant phone calls from n/west for the next couple of weeks wanting to know why account overdrawn and demanding money, explained same story at least 10 times to various employees, finally went nuts with one of them and had £420 refunded, sort of hollow victory as the very same day it was credited to account another £213 was taken out in charges! Then was told during fone conversation that further £295 would be credited(this failed to appear and they denied i had ever been told it)wrote letter of complaint, got £175 back, also in their letter they admit i wasnt informed o/d had been stopped.well very long story kinda cut short;-) account now waaaayy overdrawn, they`ve taken over £3,000 in chharges i`ve defaulted on other bills as a result, now up to my neck in it.BUT I WANT IT BACK!I think i can claim back:Unpaid items, card misuse, referal charges, default notices but what about the unarranged borrowing fees, and is there anything else I can claim? if u manged to understand any of this, and havent fallen into a coma, well done.if you think you can help me,i will get a badge made to verify that (your name) is my new best friend...
All unarranged borrowing fees (usually £14) can be claimed back. you can also claim back some of the interest you have been charged foir going overdrawn. You cant claim back the £9 Adv Gold Fee tho'.
Keep reading for another couple of days, esp the FAQs and you'll be ready to take them on.
Good luck.
