NatWest trying to collect my unauthorized overdraft, help please
Hi,
I recently received a letter from Natwest asking me to pay my outstanding unauthorized overdraft of about £400.
The thing is all of that money is just charges that the bank have added to my account at £28 each month, I havnt used that acount in over a year and they had been charging me every month because it was a negative balance and i dont have an overdraft.
I have already sent my request to NatWest for the repayment of my charges but because of the OFT case it has been put on hold.
Can the bank make me pay this or would i be able to send them a letter saying that i refuse to pay the balance until the OFT test case is over because all of the negative balance is made from charges that they gave me.

Yes Mugabe, be sure to write to them heading the letter ACCOUNT IN DISPUTE. This has more or less happened to us too, Bcard agreed to refund our charges which almost wiped out the alleged amount at a court hearing, didn't pay up and then when case due to be restored the OFT thing happened and Mercers still ringing up to collect, have now reported them to fos, so if you get no joy with the above, ask for a copy of their complaints procedure, when they have failed to deal with it you can then take the FOS route, don't let them bully you, the OFT ruling applies to them as well as you. Cheers
