Advert stated "sold as seen". Therefore buyer beware and nothing you can do about it. Not what you wanted to hear, but hopefully you will learn by your costly mistake and in future get it checked out by someone who knows about cars before parting with your hard earned cash.

Is this ebayicon seller regularly selling cars? If so, they could be classed as a dealer, and 'sold as seen' is inapplicable to businesses. The rules are different for one-off, private sales.

He claims on the listing that he took this vehicle in as a part exchange, he then goes on to say that he could retail it for more but requires the space. Therefore although he is listed as a private seller, his description makes him sound like a dealer, and if that is the case I would suggest you take this up with trading standards as he has certainly misdescribed the vehicle if it is as bad as you say. Perhaps if you tell him that your going to report him unless he refunds you in full, he may change his mind. Good luck with it.

    Hi Mum23,

    Glad you got here

Demon... they are selling car parts and some cars so i think they are a trader but registered as private.

    I understand from mum23 - hope you don't mind Mum23...

the car got delivered by truck... they couldn't 'test drive' as no tax and no insurance... basically got dumped.

ebayicon will do nothing as paid cash.

The item description does lead you to belive that this car is brilliant :o

Should Mum23 pay for a AA inspection or garage report? and send letter asking for refund or monies towards repairs?

Mum23...have you tried goggling the sellers name and address to see if you can find any business relation?
