Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
is it against the law to track a persons mobile without their permission except by the police of course.how do i go about to find out if mine has been tracked
You would never know, and for obvious reasons. If you are being tracked with permission, you'll regularly receive an SMS tell you of the fact, but if anyone wants to review your whereabouts they have to go to the networks, pay the fee and receive the details. No warrant is required, and the user isn't told of the request.
stinks of big brother.money talks and i have no rights then .i ask this as i was away from home for a week, a courier company rings me to say that they have a parcel to deliver #witheld on my mobile.they would not tell me who the sender was and would not deliver to another address ,i couldn,t even trace the couriers co name.i hadn,t ordered or won anything ,when this guy turns up with the parcel turns out to be a magazine in a brown envelope .i should have smelled a rat and opened it before signing .i,m currently off sick but not eligible to claim any benefits so i know it,s not dhss.just seems more than a coincidence. i am claiming on an insurance policy though
Just out of interest, who can actually apply to the networks to have a mobile tracked? Just the authorities or anyone as long as they pay the fee?
The networks are VERY sensitive about this, and well they might. vodafone told me the request had to come from a police superintendent or higher before the information would be released, I gather the cost is quite high due to the labour intensiveness of the process. Other networks may have different rules (and pricing), depending on whether it is simply a list of in and outbound calls to a particular mobile, or whether the 'location track' with time points. I don't think we have yet got to the 'reasonable cause' requirement for just anyone to ask.
