Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
If an arrangement to pay is made with a baliff, are they expected to send/give a payment book for payment and some form of receipt after payment is received?
equita provide payment books which makes things simple.
(not that they keep good records of payment - (I am) and I will tackle this at a later date...
CCS Enforcers have not given a book.
Can i insist on one as it's a pain having to post a cheque by given date rather than go to post office or bank.
I have only had receipts for payment I have made in person but not for the cheque I posted. Should I have been sent a receipt.
Most bailiff companies that we come across DO NOT provide payment books.
If you miss a payment the bailiff can return to your home and they then attempt to charge an additional fee to ATTEND TO REMOVE. This is why you will NOT get a reminder letter.
If you want a recipt, I would suggest writing a note to the company included with your payment and send a stamped addressed envelope
