    Smile General Advice

    Hi all,

just after general advice on a couple of points. Already started reclaiming against the Halifaxicon however, I need to clarify the following :-
    1) Since 200, have also had an aco**** with TSB, can't remember account number or sort code, can i DPA these and get that info?
    2) Also had an account with HSBCicon, this account is now in the hands off debt collectorsicon due to me having to take unpaid time off for personal reasons. I intend to pursue them for charges, can i get the debt collection co to stop the attachment of earnings they have on this whilst undertaking action against them? Also, how would payment re the above be made? Would it be paid directly against the amount I owe them, or would they pay by cheque.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, just asked same question myself and was adviced to send a DPA anyway. Although they did state it could be difficult but worth a try I suppose.

Not to sure on point two.

Point one - What I did was to send the DPA letter, add a section stating that you are unsure of the account number etc. Enclose the address you was at when the account was active, along with you date of birth and send a utility bill and a photocopy of passport/driving licence.

    This then covers all angles.

Ensure you state that you require all documents to be returned as soon as they have been checked and that all letters should now be sent to your new addess.

    Should do the trick!

Hopefully someone will be able to assist with point two!
