Default on credit history by Cabot (barclaycard debt)
I was wondering the best way to go about this. I would like to try to get the default removed from my credit history. The account was defaulted in 2002 so I only have a year left to go anyway.
I have read around some topics and was wondering which is the best way to start - by asking for a copy of the cca and default notice? Does it matter that they were sold the debt? Would it be better to go after barclaycard directly?
Re: Default on credit history by Cabot (barclaycard debt)
Needs to be in the Cabot Sub Forum really.
But basically, Barclaycard have washed their hands of this entirely, having sold the debt. Nothing to do with them as far as they are concerned.
Having said that, Cabot always deny they have any duties of the original creditor. And the way they are assigned the debt seems to support that. So I can see absolutely no reason why Barclaycard should not have to supply any agreement that you ask for.
However I'd be very surprised if you could manage to get this sorted within a year, so it would probably be a wasted effort if it will drop off before then.
