Barclaycard harassment

My daughter has been having trouble with barclaycard for some weeks now on the advise of the C.A.B she sent a list of her income and outgoings to her creditors and all accepted a token payment of £1.00 until her circumstances improve but over the last 2 weeks Barclaycard have started to harasser her over her debt (11 calls in the last 3 days) every time she speaks to somebody they seem to ignore what she is saying, that she is paying all she can afford at the moment and when things improve she will inform them and up her payments . then someone else will call her sometimes 1/2 hour later they now say that they have past it on to a debt collector icon

but they all dont seem to get the message that she is paying all she can afford any advise on how to stop the calls would be appreciated i feel she is being harassed and over stressed out as she is 8 months pregnant.

Hi Rover,

First of all your daughter needs to stop talking to them over the phone. Anything you say to them via a phone can never be verified unless you are recording the call. So can never be used as proof or evidence. All they are after is money and they have no interest icon

in your personal or medical situations. So do not answer their security questions next time they ring, just ask that all correspondence be in writting from now on.

Are you sure it is Barclaycard that is calling your daughter and not their in house collector MERCERS. Sounds more likely to me.

If you have written proof of their acceptance of your £1 offer, just keep paying. If it is MERCERS phoning, send a CCA request for them to prove they have the legal right to collect this debt
