hi everyone,
i sent out letter requesting my bank statements from a&l, giving them the 40 days. having heard nothing from them i sent another letter giving them 7 days, they contacted me by phone saying they will sort it out but it will take a further 21 days for them to send out my bank statements, are they able to take this long to send them out to me, any advise would be much appreiated
thanks louylou
They are required by law to send them within 40 days. You should report them to the Information Commissioner. You can file a claim in court to force them to send the statements although this is costly (£150) and if you are going to get them in 21 days in may not be worth making a claim.
