Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hello,
We are with RBOS and have received a court date (15.10.07)...what on earth do we do. Is there a guide to what I should be submitting? Should I be ringing to ask for a settlement???
First things first - don't phone Cobbetts to attempt settlement with them. It isn't worth it, particularly not at the moment with the OFT test case.
The letter (directions) you've received from the court should tell you exactly what type of hearing this is and what you'll need to do in preparartion for it (e.g., submit documents, etc).
To ensure you receive the best advice possible, could I ask you to post up the full directions you'e received from the court along with a little bit of background information to your claim such as:
- type of claim (personal account, business account, credit card?)
- amount
- how you filed at court (N1 or MCOL)
- stages you've been through (defence, aq, etc)
- etc.
If you post the above up on this thread, we'll be able to advise you further.
