can Barclaycard pass debt to Mercers if a case is stayed

After applying for Judgement against Barclaycard because they didnt acknowledge in time, I have now been informed that they acknowledged the day after judgement was up so a stay had been put on the case. Now 2 weeks after receiving that from the Court I have now received a letter from Mercers saying that Barclaycard have passed my debt onto them. Can they do this if the case is in dispute and pending a stay?

credit card claims should not be affected by the test case as it applies to personal current accounts only (and now business accounts as the FSA has decided to include these).

dispute the stay by appealing the test case has no relevance to this claim.

Also,

Write to Mercers by Recorded Delivery informing them that the account is currently the subject of legal action, and that they should remove their snouts from the trough forthwith or be prepared to become party to that action.

Mercers are part of Barclays icon

, so the debt has only moved offices, not been sold on to a debt collector icon

. They are not too difficult to deal with - more hot air than enforcement action

, but still complain that it should not have been transferred.
