    Default Contractual Interest with Barclaycard

    Hi all,

I have been away from the CAGicon scene for a while and not really sure what is going on with the credit card companies with regards to the high court test case. I know that the test case is for banks only but how has it affected your CC claims?

Also has anyone out there been successful with claiming contractual interesticon (recently)? I have just done my calculations and contractual interest adds about £265 to my claim

    Many thanks
    K

    Hi

have a look through this link. Credit cards, loans and mortgages are not affected.

Remember, interesticon is not added until court stage. Have a look through the won thread. This will give you an idea and yes, CI has been claimed.

Keep in touch and good luck!!

Any advice given by me is based solely on my experience in claiming, my experience in CAG or my opinion. I have no legal background. I want to encourage others to reclaim what is theirs.

Got a DCA breaking OFT guidance. Complain to the OFT about the DCA. Help put an end to these practices-

When I said contractual interesticon, I mean interest on the charges. I've been a bit confused about the whole contractual thing so I'd be grateful if somebody could set me straight

My charges come to £459 amd I have added interest on those charges at whatever rate they have charged me (rates have fluctuated over the last 6 yearsicon) and this is what I am asking for in my prelim. I am asking for it simply because the interest is DIRECTLY related to the unlawful charges.

I don't think that is contractual interest though. I know that if this goes to court, I can claim 8% ON TOP OF this but where does contractual interest fit in? Am I right in thinking I can either claim 8% statutory OR 18.9% contractual interest at court stage?

I know that if I claim contractual, I must mention it in my prelim letter, so how do I word it? Is there a link to a template specifically for claiming contractual interest?

    Thanks,
    K
