    Default Lady P V A & L

Received my print out after DPA (and reminding them that the deadline was approaching and explaining I WILL be itaking Court action if info is not provided! ) INformation received on Monday (the day After the deadline, cheque was cashed about three days after receipt!)

Have looked through the information and there is a charge of £10.00 each time I appear to have a "penalty" -

Is this a "Penalty" in disguise or a charge (for whcih I cant claim for)!

At the first glance the claim will be in the region of about £3000 - Looks like A & L will be paying for my university fees next year (and a holidayicon!)

    Please advise.

    Thanks

Hi, Not sure on this - what does the text next to the £10 say ?
Are you getting a charge of £30 odd and then the £10 charge ? if so it could be for being in unauthorised overdrafticon....

I'm expect theres some folk in A&L who've seen the same on their statements...

Thank you for the above comments - the details after the charges are not clear, the statements say "Date, Montly OD Charge (Date) 10.00
then a "unauthorised montly OD Charge of £52.20)

Are they connected, and most importantly - Can I claim them back?

A&L wrote to me this morning closing my account down with a "formal demand for payment" fortunately I have savings which have shored it up and closed the account down the amount outstanding is exclusively from "Fees" . (Votive) for those who do not have access for funds.

    Now preparing for round 1

    Payback time!

That's what I like to see, familial solidarity.

Got a bro meself - fought like cat 'n dog growin' up (still can on occasion, won't forget he's older 'n me, an' tries it on sometimes - a quick slap soon sorts it!), but I'd go to hell 'n back to help him if he needed it! 8)

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Recived "standard letter" from bank, "our charges are fair etc the oft was for credit cards there is nothing we can do" etc

I thought it was the only non standard letter I was going to get until someone else mentioned that they had received the same letter.

Two weeks to go until I file the court action.

£2,650 on its way. (My bank (sorry ex bank) is paying for my university fees next year!)

Sent letter before actionicon, giving 14 days to pay up!

Received another "unsigned" letter today saying "our charges are fair and in line with everyone else" Therefore we are unable to refund your charges.

Now I have had the letter within the 14 days, is there any reason why I shouldnt put the moneyclaim form in this weekend, as I have had their response, whcih is "B****er off" and dont darken our doors again.?

Nearly there now - £2600 on its way - If they had paid out the money when I asked for it they would have saved themselves nearly £500.

    D'oh!.

    Regards

    Lady P

Some people wait as there is a remote possibility they could change their policy and you have technically given them 14 days. Others just go to MCOL as they have an answer. The choice is yours.

I have been away for a while, and now worried about a small issue.

I have had a job where I have been really busy for a month and there is now a gap between my lbaicon and the filling on of the court action.

Do I have to go through the whole process again, or can I go straight to the court action.

    Regards

    Lady P

    Hi Lady P.

Sorry I can't do a link thing [I'm computer illiterate], but I suggest you check out MemmaJ's thread "My A&L update (and advice needed)", as she is in a similar position.

Tinkerbelle gave her some advice on how to proceed, which may also help you.

I would be inclined to send a final lbaicon giving them another 14 days and then proceed to court action.
