Thread: Barclays Credit Card Late Payment in Credit File

Even though I made payment 2 days earlier (online) than last due date it somehow didn't reach to them and they levied late payment charges and sticked a "Payment Late" entry in my Credit File (1 - Yellow circle in Experian)

They have promised to take back charges after my complaint.

Can anyone point me which letter (template) I shall use to request them to remove the late payment entry from my credit file?

I'm not sure if you guys use the term "Default" for "payment late" also? I've been seeing Default everywhere in this forum.

A late payment marker also knocks your credit score out by around 5-10 points, so i would follow it up and make sure they remove that marker.

Alot of late payment markers on your various accounts can have just as a negative affect on your credit as a default marker

I agree with The Analyst. If your record with them is good I see no reason at all why they would not ammend the details on your file

i have had runins with Barclays a number of times you do seem to get results when writing in to them rather than ringing and lodging a complaint since all of there admin is soley computer based computers do get it wrong unfortunately
