Download speed is certainly important. but upload speeds can be really snail like by comparison. typically 2.5kb on a 1 meg connection with most providers.
They rely on the belief that people wil only download - not upload.
Some suppliers do offer a better speed but not by much
i think i shall register a complaint with ofcom i remember asking bt about this problem last year and they said it was because the net was busy,think ive been fobbed off,considering i am paying top money for option 3 from bt
