Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Having successfully reclaimed bank account charges for my sister, I am now fighting to get credit card charges refunded for my mum.
I'm claiming for £1185 over two Barclaycards. Having been through the usual process, I sent my lba and was offered £453 in settlement (the difference between the charges and the new penalty charge of £12). I sent the rejection letter stating that I would gladly accept the money providing the remainder of the amount is credited to the accounts within the next 10 days. Their response was as I expected and they will not budge, so it's time to submit my claim to the courts.
I would just like to know if the 8% daily interest is added to a credit card claim in the same way it is for a bank account claim?
Also, should I notify Barclaycard of the impending claim? Their letter states that if they do not hear from me within 8 weeks they will close the complaint file.
