Thread: 0845 number called then hung up

Had a call from an 0845 number then they hung up does anyone know how you find out who they are I don't want to phone them is there a way of doing it online.

type the number into google or try saynoto0870

If that doesn't work try posting the number here. If it's not a DCA you can always delete it later

put 141 in before the number. This won't show your number up then.

I have tried google and this forum but got nothing the number is 08453723710 maybe I am just being paranoid as I have sent off a few SAR's and CCA's for my daughter it might just be a sales call

Just had this number pop up on Caller Ident when "SK Promotions" rang to try selling me a kitchen from the Ideal Homes exhibition at the Glasgow SECC.

The line they rang in on is XD, unlisted and registered with the telemarketing preferences thing. Apparently my number is in the "AMCAP Database"?

If you are called by a call centre, then they are required to provide a number for 1471 use. Thus can be a geographical number or an 0845 (for a single company, they can use 0800).

If you dial the number, you will probably be connected to a recorded message telling you who called and giving you an 0870 number to return the call.

Fine for a UK call centre, but due to possible 'technical difficulties' there is no such requirement for the many offshore call centres to provide their CLI data.
