What is the standing for those of us that are in 'limbo'. Have been offered a settlement figure prior to yesterday' announcement of court case, but have not formally accepted it (were of the opinion to take it to court!).

The BBC News item (above) says the banks have to honour all offers of settlement prior to this announcement.

If, like me, (and there must be a fair few out there who are in the same position as me) an offer of settlement has been made (but hasn't yet been accepted and no court action has been started) does that mean we can still accept and get something back.

Further, IF we accept how would we stand if the OFT win their case? Could there be a legal argument that we personally settled our claim but that has been over ruled by the courts throught their findings of the OFT case?

    Hi to all,
Regarding the stay of cases until after High Court Decision, I as one of the many customers claiming under the "Social Security Act" and benefit payments myself think that all cases relating to the above should still be allowed to go ahead regardless. The Banks themselves MUST have known about this legislation but decided themselves to ignore the law, and continued taking money which was for the claimants themselves given to them by the government for THEMSELVES.
I also feel that ALL cases that have completed and submitted their aqicon,s SHOULD BE allowed regardless as the Banks through their Stalling antics and complete disregard to the British Judicial System, by way of administering a DEFENCE when they in reality had NO Intention of defending the case in the first place. Had they NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO DO THIS , at least half of the cases waiting would have already been settled. Afterall it is through their own measures and deception that has kept many of these cases in ABEYANCE and for so long. . Junkimunki xx

I for one will be dumping the fosicon and I will be requesting they return all documention in relation to my claim. To be honest the OFT hav'nt the balls,if they lose then their F----d. According to a report on Channel Four News the banks cut a secret deal with the OFT.The FSA,FOS and OFT should have allowed excisting claims to still go through.I will be applying to my local county courticon re my claim.
