Hi,
I am having problems with a certain high street bank and bank charges. Infact it has been about 5 months since i first asked for the charges to be refunded, the problem is that everything was in my husbands name and he died very suddenly last year aged 39. The financial ombudsmen said i would still be able to claim, so i tried. I recieved a letter back saying they were dealing with the case but needed four weeks, Four weeks later i recieved another letter saying they needed the same amount of time again. Around six weeks ago i contacted the ombusman again saying had heard nothing from them after the 2nd letter and they said they would investigate, but as yet have heard nothing. Has anyne else had this sort of problem or is it just me.
This is certainly not a typical problem, but has probably been overshadowed somewhat by the OFT decision yesterday. This is likely to delay all claims within the fos and might even cause delays with court claims - we will know more in a few days.
If I were you I would phone the FOS and ask them about your individual case and see what progress had already been made, then report back to us.
