Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
As you know, Barclays refused to refund any charges of my charges and disagreed that charges were unfair.
I decided to go the Ombudsman route as I had my final response from Barclays which they require before taking on cases. Court really wasn't for me at this moment in time.
I filled in the complaint form on the 26th June, and am so pleased to say that today have received a letter from the Ombudsman to say that although Barclays do not agree that the charges are unlawful, they will refund me the full amount I had asked with interest, rather than the Ombudsman initiating a formal investigation, (umm, wonder why!)
So this is another route people may like to try and only took 4 weeks from start of complaint to the Ombudsman. But again the Ombudsman need the final response letter from your Bank before acting on your behalf.
