Hello to all in the forums, I am new to CAG and would welcome some help on interest calculation.
Amount claimed from Barclaycard on behalf of my son is £558.21, this includes interest calculated as at 23rd May 2007.
Letter received from Barclaycard 30th May offering a goodwill payment of £202.
I wrote back on 14th June and advised that £202 would be accepted as part payment without prejudice but would continue the claim for the full amount of £558.21.
They are still refusing to settle the full amount so I am now going to start court proceedings.
However I do not know how to calculate the interest as they credited £202 to my son's Barclaycard account on 30th May so I need to deduct this from the final amount to be claimed and also the interest originally calculated was as at 23rd May so I presumably need to calculate the interest as at the date I submit the claim.
Can anyone help please.
Success story - GM Card £1370 claimed, £1370 received
Hi there i would show this in your schedule of charges.
Put ALL the charges and the interest then show the amount they paid as a minus.
Thank you very much for this advice. I am going to complete the court application, I will post the outcome on the forum hopefully not in the too distant future.
Good luck to everyone claiming their charges, I have had one success so far, two more to go.
Thanks to everyone for all the useful information on this site.
