Default Help With Car Warranty Claim

I bought a used Ford Focus in Febuary 2006, In the next few weeks i noticed that the air conditioning didnt seem to be working. I contacted the Garage where i bought the car, and they put me in touch with the Aftersales Dept, who in turn put me in touch with there local servicing agent.

The local agent took my car and tested the air conditioning and found that the system would need re - charged, and that i would probably have to pay for it!

After the air conditioning was re-charged, i was informed that the warranty company were claiming the bill and i did not have to pay anything for the repair.

That was on 10th April, Now in the last week i have discovered that the air conditioning has stopped working again, and after being tested, i am told that there is a leak on one of the pipes, and that it could cost quite a bit to repair.

Does anyone know how i stand on this situation? can i go back to the original garage and ask them to foot the bill for something that was not working on the car when i got it, or is it up to me to foot the bill??

PS My warranty !!! (yes that expensive piece of paper!!!) only covers the compressor !

    HELP !!!

Go back to the garage you bought it from and tell them whats wrong with it and that it must have been like it when you bought the car and ask them to fix it and see what they say thats the first port of call I would say, try that before worrying about anything else legal wise etc you never know you might just might have an honest trader who will fix it for you.

I had a good experience recently we bought a Fiat Marea Weekender and 1 week later the exhaust fell off saw the garage the following monday they said take it here and they will fix it, they put on a whole new exhaust (£200) there and then no agro at all (apart from waiting while they did it lol) and after I checked the paperwork for the warranty it specifically excluded exhausts and tyres. Now I know I could have forced this through court or whatever but it was really refreshing to not have to even ask for it to be fixed they just did it.

I will definately be buying a car from there again!

Good luck with your air con (esp in this weather)
