I'd like to start this thread in order for me to seek advice, tips and suggestions regarding my ongoing claim against Barclaycard.
So, please let me bring you all upto date with my progress and situation so far.
I started my claim against Barclaycard on the 23rd of April 2007 by sending them a Data Protection Act/S.A.R - (Subject access request) for my two accounts, MasterCard and Visa.
I sent a follow up reminder letter on the 5th of May 2007 as I had yet to receive an acknowledgement.
On the 22nd of May 2007 I receive two envelopes with the information I requested for both accounts.
I set to work and calculated the charges which were owed to me and then sent two seperate letters for the two accounts.
The two preliminary letters were sent on the 15th June 2007, a little later than the recommended time frame due to some personal issues.
The amounts I requested back were £242.50 for my Visa account and £288.06 from my MasterCard account including 8% Statutory interest.
On the 19th June 2007 I received two letters from Barclaycard addressing my preliminery letter.
I have scanned and uploaded both these letters (minus personal information), you can view them at the following links:-
Now, I have yet to respond to these letters, so again I am not exactly following the set timescales. This was due again to some personal issues.
I am now wanting to respond to these letters. I have looked on the CAG sticky links about dealing with partial offers and Full and final settlements. But I am a little unsure which letter to send from the CAG library at this stage.
Can anyone point me in the right direction based on the above two letters from Barclaycard?
I obviously want to accept their offer, but only as a partial refund and persue them for the remainder.
Also, even though I have not yet replied to their letters, they have not credited either of my two accounts contrary to what the letter states.
I do intend to follow through with my claim, but as stated in my original post, I am unsure which template letter to send in reference to the letters from Barclaycard.
