Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
excuse my ignorance but am getting extremely confused - have rec'd statements and added up charges. However when I've used the calculator to work out insterest etc. and have pulled the template out of the library it says
"I calculate that you have taken £XXXXX plus £XXX which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX ."
What is the "overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken" ? is it interest for the amount of time they have had my money? Or is it interest because I was over my overdraft limit - if so, is it only applicable to the charges that exceeded my overdraft or is it applicable to the entire balance over the end of my overdraft ...? can you tell I've confused myself?
I was charged interest each month for being OD - hopefully it is clearly marked on your statements.
I added up all of the charges (£20, £30 etc) then all of the monthly interest charges (£7.09, £10.12 etc) and totalled the two to give me the final sum I was claiming.
