Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
This is my first post and I was just wondering if anyone has had their account closed by Halifax after successfully claiming back charges? I filed my claim in the small calims court this morning after they failed to reply to my lba. I am currently under an IVA and have been refused a Natwest Step account and a Co-op cashminder even though these are supposed to be suitable for people with a bad credit history. I am now really worried I won't be able to get an account if Halifax close mine.
I would definately try and get another account if possible, I know the post office do a very basic one, I doubt they will turn you down, as they are for the benifit for people on benifits, although anyone can open one.

I'm not sure to be honest, they have threatened to close my account if I get any further charges (they settled my claim last week) and I have had another charge but heard nothing since then.
Yes, and HSBC are quite good in my experience - they let me have a credit card when no-one else would.

They have also yet to charge me any penalty fees, regardless of the fact I have gone over my overdraft quite a bit. Not sure if this is because I have a graduate account.
