Thread: A&L- Court case started- need some advice please

Hi all,
My first time here...or on any type of forum before so please be gentle!!
HELP !!I need some help to get prepared for a court appearance please.
I started my claim for a refund of charges at the end of March.Things went backwards n forwards for a while; A&L made me a paultry offer in May which i refused so i started my court claim in early June. and they then sent me a cheque saying it included the court fee this time, which effectively lowered the original offer, needless to say it was sent back.
The bank have given notice to defend all the claim and MCOL have transfered it to my local Courts; they have set a date of 31st August for a Directions Hearing which I have to attend.
Is there anyone who can advise me about the court procedure. Can someone tell what's this hearing for and what do I need to take with me.

thanks for that...its very isolating doing this sort legal action against big companies and having contact with others in the same boat is very reassuring.
unfortunately all the court letter says is the date that I have to attend, i'm sure its not that simple which is why I got a bit nervous.
