Default Time for a new bank account?

Just after some friendly advice from others who've been there...

I've now submitted my claim against A&L and have received their standard Wragge (or should I say ragged) defence.

After reading others' experiences I am wondering if I need to start looking NOW for a new bank account, before I'm left without one? How likely are A&L to close my account now I've gone to the small claims court?

    :?

    Hi & welcome,
Though I am fairly new myself, I am quite sure you have a long way to go yet before this happens, if it does at all. I have just rec'd my aqicon and they have not, as yet mentioned closing my acct. But if it make you happier, it wouldn't hurt to start looking around - cos' would you really want to stay with them anyway?

There is lots to do in the meantime. Just read everything you can within the A&L threads.

There is so much help on this site is hard to feel negative about the whole procedure. They really do jolly you along, every step of the way. So 'never be afraid' fellow CAGicon's will be your guiding light!

Lots of helpers will be along soon to advise on your next move.

I wish you the best of luck

    hi

a&L have been fined for retalitory closures in the past - but as things had been quiet on the cases settled for a while not sure if they will close accounts in the future. but not a bad idea to be ready with a "parachute accounticon" while you have the time to organise.

Just to put my two pennies worth in, I've recently had an offer from A&L and they do mention in so many words that if I accept the offer and their terms & conditions they won't close the account. I am well prepared for them to close my account once this is over and have opened my parachute accounticon just in case. I've even debated moving my wages anyway to beat them at their own game

    Barclays PPI claim

    HSBC - (for my brother-in-law) ***Won*** 8-)

    Hi all

I opened a new account with Smile, and thought that I'd beat them at their own game. My new bank moved all my D/Ds and standing orders over for me in a matter of weeks and my A&L account is now in the process of being closed down.

I shouldn't worry too much at the moment about closing your account, but do have another one ready. If A&L do close your account I read somewhere that they would have to give you 30 days notice anyway. So no panic at the moment.
