Default Trucker V Barclays #2 (Going Back 18 Years)

    Hi All

I am just starting to prepare my second claim, from 1989 - 2004. However, i have only got statements back to 98. What are your opinions about estimating pre 98.

Also i noitce on the spreadsheets that there is a box for estimated charges but this does not attract 8% interesticon. Is there any reason why not?

I must say that i was a little dissappointed. It seems i was better with my money in my younger days can only find about £700 in charges...lol

dont forget tho that the charges incurred were not as high as the charges in the last few years ... as to the pread sheet im lost with anything other than the simple one ..... dont forget i have deep blonde roots and dye my hair to match them ;-)

Any typos spelling mistakes are due to leprechauns in my keyboard they move the letters around sometimes (amended just for Bookie)

    Hi saintly

The thing that i find mystifying is that pre 2001 the charges are hit and miss. Sometimes they have not charged at all despite being well over my o/d limit. Perhaps that was the good old days when the Branch still had the discretion on whether charges were applied.

Re blonde moments. I seem to store a lot of info in my head which i hope can help others but have a mental block when it comes to dealing with my own claims.

in the good old days ... banks hadn't gone fully automated and actual people could look and see that a credit into the account was in the system ie would be cleared within the next day and so a bit more lenient its only when they went fully automated that charges were incurred more frequently .... just my humble opinion

Good luck trucker. Will watch with the utmost interesticon.
Am about 2/3 weeks behind you depending on Bs reaction to my request for judgement today.
I had discretionary charges as recently as 04..Dosent appear to be rhyme or reason, just what suits them at the time.

Truck,, I saw somewhere that before '98 or '96 the rate is not 8% but 15%

Dont quote me on this yet, I will look into it and try to source my info again.

Also, I have been forced into estimating my earliest charges due to failure to comply.
I stated I have no objection to the judge amending the figure as he/she sees fit.

I think Ive been patient enough

Hands up.... my dates were way out...sorry!

You should note that the Statutory interesticon has been 8% since 1/4/93, before then the rate was 15%. If your claim predates 1/4/93 you will need to apportion the different rates of interest accordingly.

Interesting Daz... so does that mean i can claim 15% for charges pre 1/4/93 right up to present at that rate or a combination of both?

Still alive and kicking with this one but not got it into the system as yet. A change in circumstances has meant i have not had the time.
