    Default Very new to this

I have never posted to any web forum before so I am new to this. Having received my bank statements I sent a letter and spreadsheet to Aliance and Leics asking for my bank charges to be refunded. They have replied saying they are waiting for the outcome of discussions between banks and the OFT. Is this just a standard letter and should I now send a further letter? I looked at the templates and Im not sure which one I should send now. Is anyone at a similar stage in the process. It feels a little scary to be going up against a bank especially if it means going to court. Any advice.

Hi Ruby, dont worry hun there are a lot of us nervous wrecks around here but there are also as many wonderful helpful people. Shout if you need any help and someone will reply as soon as they can.

Best advice i was given and always repeat to everyone is to stick to your schedule. Follow the time limits set on here and ignore there delaying tactics, believe me they will try everything they can. If you are unsure just shout.

Thanks to everyone who sent me messages to reassure me. I have now received a letter from A & L in reply to the lbaicon I sent but they are only offering me about one third of the amount I asked for. Is there any mileage in going back to them and saying Im not accepting their initial offer in the hope that they will up it or am I just delaying the inevitable.

According to the templates the next step is the form to be submitted to the county courticon (step 4 I think). I have no idea where my county court is (being an honest sort of girl - even if I am rubbish at managing my finances) if this is the form I need to send how do I find out where the county court is in my area? Can anyone help?

I would do both Ruby, you can find templates (cooking at the minute will find u template link when im done) for rejection letter, and u have 2 options for starting court proceedings MCOL (Money Claim Online) or the N1 form via your local court. I think easiest way to get your local court details is just to google it with ***** county courticon. It should then give you details of your local one.

Thanks Jess68 and Alice-Rose, I now know where my county courticon is. I have been looking on the other links that Squarebob suggested and the Money Saving Expert site does explain things fairly simply. I'm thinking of going for the MCOL option but one thing is worrying me. All of these stages seem to have set deadlines and I am out of the country from 16th August until 31st. What happens if I miss one of these deadlines because I'm not here is it better to wait until I come back before I fill in the online form?

Jess68 Ive found a template for a refusal letter and will send this off.
