Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
In some places, you take the risk that they won't actually have the size/model you would have wanted, booking in advance, in theory, means you'll get what you asked for.
There are a lot of places in the world where I just wouldn't drive and as BW said, it depends where you are going.
My advice would be to book in advance, that way you have some comeback if you don't get the car that you need or it turns out to be a heap. Generally speaking, if you book a hire car for a European holiday, it will go through a multi national company like Europcar or Avis and you can be assured of a good quality fairly new car.
Worst case scenario - try and get a hire car at the airport and there are none available. Not much of a holiday!
Hi be careful when hiring a car abroad as i hired one last year in malaga and paid on via delta, forgot to take visa delta on hols with me and they refused to hire us the car even though it had been paid for, they wanted visa delta for petrol i offered to pay them in euros but got no where, still havent got back the money for the hire of the car.
where are you going? if you are going somewhere "touristy" then there will be lots of car hire places available, if you need a car at the airport then yes, hire in advance, but generally, car hire is ok and safe
When we went to ireland last week, we booked a car with budget, we got it for a cheaper rate than we would had we just flown over and tried to get one from the airport, if they have all there cars booked which is possible for an airport hire co, then it is possible you may have to pay more to have a bigger car than you wanted.
