I am keeping an open eye on this, I too have recieved the same pack after sending a SAR to them some time ago.
They tried hard to deter my efforts in getting any info, they were asking me to provide utility bills from 3yrs ago to prove identity !!!!
A little chat with my friends at the Information Commisioners Office soon woke them up to what is right and correct.
When the info arrived though, i like you, was dissapointed to see there were no charges, even though there is a default registered, so it follows that charges are applicable.
Should you find any good info regardiing this matter then by all means message me direct as i will the same for you.
