Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Ive hovered round here for a while reading posts and using the templates letter so thought I would share my story as I had read that Egg could be very difficult sometimes?
I first rang sometime last year to egg to ask them to refund my charges, my card was close to being maxed out so they managed to brow beat me by telling me over the phone that they may consider closing the account.
However! Now I had the upper hand, the card was paid off, but still live and I sent off a letter a few weeks ago, I already knew the amount of charges I wanted to reclaim. 3 x £16 (yes, £16 which they might try and tell you is actually lawful). They wrote back saying it is lawful etc. etc. I then send off a second letter informing them of my intent to take them to court if they did not pay up. I receive a letter today offering me my full claim.
