    Default Getting cheques back

    Hi all,

The RBSicon charges for each cashed cheque I ask for a copy of.

My question is: do the cashed cheques belong to me or the bank?

If I request to pick up the original cashed cheques, does the bank have to give them to me?

If I can get the originals, should I be charged?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Regards
    Steve

    Default Re: Getting cheques back

I don't know the legal answer to this, but I would think the cheques ultimately belong to the bank. Either way to retrieve either original or copy obviously costs the bank and since this is a service that they are providing are entitled to charge for it.

Not the answer you want I suspect, but there again I may be wrong!
