Talking Do I have to pay child support

My ex has put in a claim for child support from me, A court order was issued in 2003 which allowed him and his mother joint residence and parental responsible, I do not have residence or parental responsible, I don`t have any contact wirh them or the child. Is`nt it up to them to support the child, You should`nt need 3 adults to support a child.

Please could someone tell me where I stand on this matter.

Can't feed it, don't breed it. You're a parent. A parent. Do you want your child growing up hearing nothing from their other parent but what a wastrel their other birth parent is?

Besides, the CSA won't care where the child is living now - unless the new non-birth parent legally adopts the child, you're liable all the way. As you should be.

The child is 15 and I supported her for 10 years and got nothing from her father.

Also, you would have been entitled to support through the CSA while she was living with you. Now that she is living with her father, you are liable until she is 18/19.

If he is claiming benefits they will force him to put in a claim, or threaten to reduce his benefit. If he was on benefits at the time you had your child living with you, you could have made a claim and a weekly amount would have been deducted from his benefit. It may only be a token £5, but you could have claimed it. Unfortunately you have to pay for your children, and as a mother of 2 (number 3 on the way) I can say no power on earth would stop me seeing my kids ever, even if they chose not to live with me. Sorry.

Btw I am no expert just give notes based on what I have read on here and other forums/sites, plus my own experiences and investigations.

All ccj's now dropped off file, 2 yrs to go to clear file.
All old debts either settled or made unenforcable.

    Looking into PPI claims now.

That's pretty much what I was going to say (apart from my #3 is is 1 years old!)

You gave birth, you support that child! It doesn't matter what relationship you have with the father/grandmother - it's YOUR CHILD you should be thinking of!
