Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just received my allocation questionnaire and have been filling it out. I started having a look for all my documentation and proof of the charges made on the account and realised that I have mislaid the bank statements I was sent!!! I have no proof unless I ask for them to send them to me again and that could take ages!!
Does anyone have any advice on this? I have received a letter from Cahoot saying that they will give me 65% of my claim and I figure now I will just have to accept this as I don't have all the correct paperwork to take to court! Gutted!
Don't panic. If you really can't find them, send another SAR to cahoot to get them sent again. There's plenty of time, they have a max of 40 days to comply and from my experience it was 2 months between sending in aq and getting a court date, and then I had another 2-3 weeks before I had to submit the bundle. Don't accept the offer now, you've got so far you might as well keep going.
