Hi,tomorrow I am going to put in my N1 form as A&L have totally refused to pay up, they never even made an offer!!!!! I am at the moment on Income support and understand that I won't have to pay the court fees. I can't seem to find the form I should be filling in for exemption.I would be very grateful if someone could direct me. Thanx!!
Can anybody tell me, as I am on Income Support I have put in the EX160 form, does this delay them putting the claim to A&L.(how long is it before they decide that I am eligible for exemption.)
Just an update!! received a letter from the court today saying that the claim is deemed to be served on 5th July and the defendant has until 19th July to reply.Getting a bit nervous now.

Hi there pudkids I too have just filled in an exemption form as im a student and recieve certain tax credits and on the leaflet that came with the form it says that it should be looked at within 5 working days, u could always ring the court and just explain the time limits you have. Although if the claim is already deemed sounds like it may be already sorted.Hope that helps
Good luck!

Guess what came today!!!!! A letter off A&L offering me £2068.00 off a claim of £7256.95.(I know what I am doing with that)THE CHEEK!! Now for my letter of refusal. Can anyone direct me to the right letter to send as ther is so many and I am not sure whether it is a different one because I have already filed to the court. PKx
Hi all, found the refusal letter I needed, I posted it yesterday afternoon, now this morning I received a letter from Wragge&Co stating they intend to defend and enclosed Acknowledgement of service form.I know this is normal procedure but I am just a bit worried as they have put it in my husbands name and it is a joint claim, should I do anything? PKx
Hi Pudkids,
You just nudged your thread by posting on it. Wragges use the "joint account" piece in their defence quite often. Did you file the claim in your name only or in both names?

They tend to put in some waffle about it being a joint account and yet there is only one claimants name in the claim. If your account is anything like mine, either party can sign for or make decisions on the account so that is a load of old bolony (spelling??). If you put both names on the claim, then you have nothing to worry about. They are obviously so competent , that they completely missed the fact that there are two names on the claim instead of just your husbands

Yes I would say so. I'm not as far as you with my claims just yet, but I would say wait for further instructions from the court and take the time to read through other A&L threads. It will give you a good idea of what you can expect to come next

Just an update, I have now received their defence papers dated 6th July and then next day received letter off A&L saying they are dealing with my complaint. Getting very confused now, what comes next as I am getting a bit lost.!!!
It does confuse you, they send out letters from A+L and Wragge all at once, i think in 2 days i had 5 letters overlapping each other....
I think you just have to wait for the court now... you shud get something from court now with directions on it, either an Allocation questionaire or if that is dispensed with i think you will get a date for some type of hearing. (Dont quote me on it, im just going off my personal experience)

Yes I had my defence ages ago - then two offers which I rejected - still waiting to hear from the local court for a date . I added a nudge suggested settlement figure I would accept and sent a copy to the court to show them I have not accepted an offer - but that I am still negotiating.
Keep reading our threads - it will help you to see all the stages.
