So far i have had no response from Natwesticon. Called customer services who said they have a record of the request and it should have been sent on the 23rd. She was very confused by the notes on the account but got to the relevant ones in the end. Also said there was no charge for them. Nice to know they respond to our requests, shame we have to follow them up to find this out.

18 days passed on dpa request, chompin at the bit now.......

At last some action on the statements. This morning i got all statements back to july 2003, the date i opened the account. Result i dont have to chase the microfisch ones. THESE ARE PRINT NUMBERED FROM PAGE 1 ONWARDS. This makes me think there fisch arguement is rubish if they have been using it.

I totaled up the charges £240, bit disapointing but hey they hurt when i was at uni with no money.

I have one question about removing defaults. It shows on the statements that i paid 2 x default notice fee, one was refunded but does this mean i was defaulted and paid for them to do it? or is it just their terminology? not sure if i need to include the red bit on the refund request letter.

Another quick thought. I am claiming back on a student account so it has been 0% interesticon most of the time. On the letter for refund it says in the what i require section about claiming interest and the total amount. Can i just edit it and send it like this:

    What I require
I calculate that you have taken £240.
I enclose a schedule of the charges which I am claiming with this letter.

Not sure if this could cause me any problems later on so thought i would ask.

    Hi,

I'm currently a student claiming for some charges but I don't have any interesticon so I just haven't mentioned it in my letter.

Don't know if this is the right thing to do though?

    Initially owed £76
Phone call to NatWest - £19 refunded
    Now claiming £57
Visit to local branch - Nothing done
Initial letter - Standard refusal letter from Mr. Higley
LBA - Another refusal letter from Mr. Higley
Action filled Monday 7th August - court costs £30
    Now claiming £87
10th August - Natwest acknowledge the claim, intend to defend in full
23rd August - Received a latter and cheque from RBS for the full amount
24th August - Send letter to RBS accepting payment on the condition that payment is not confidential
    30th August - Payment cleared.
    Case closed!

dont worry clair i have no intention of giving up. recieved a letter today saying they will be in touch by 21/07/2007. I called the person that sent it and asked if it was just an error, he said it was and will be in touch by 21/07/06 as per my 14 days. Think the presure may be showing a little as he wasnt to happy when i spoke to him. Still managed to make it a laughing matter and he seemed to cheer up, fingers crossed for a full refund then.

Natwesticon have decided to acknowledge my claim today. strange thing is that it is not even deemed issued yet according to the dates i have. what does this mean for my dates? do they still have 28 days from the 3rd of september? or does that start from when they acknowledge the claim? just wondering if they have now speeded up my claim for me.
    fingers crossed anyway

its 28 days from the issue date. Sof if they acknowledged it early thats fine. its 28 days from that date.

You will get to find out who is defending, if Cobbetts are defending they will file their defence on the last day, if however RBSicon (Natwesticon) defend it you might get it back sooner.

I have just sent my aqicon back to the courts.
