Default DH and Mumofthreeboys v First Direct - **WON**

Well, this is my second claim - first one was/is with the Woolwich (see my thread on that forum if you're interested).

I've just done the DPA letter to First Direct - one for each account. We had a joint account and a savings account with them.

They have since closed both and, I suspect, entered a default against us. This was all prior to me knowing about this site and they kept threatening and threatening because we weren't paying off the overdrafticon and in the end they closed them and the account is now with Metropolitan Collection Services and we are repaying £40 per month towards our overdraft, which was about £560 odd I think.

However, on adding up the charges, they come to £265 odd (which would reduce the total we owe by about half), but I think I'm missing some statements. I tried to access the statements online, but I had apparently given the wrong password (even though I knew I hadn't). So I phoned them up and they asked me what I wanted to do and I said I was just tiding away old statements and noticed I was missing a few and could they reset my password so I could access them online!!

I then got passed on to a Supervisor who asked me again what I wanted to do, I told her and she asked 'what do you want the statements for'? I told her and she said because the account is now closed I wouldn't be able to access the statements even if she reset the password for me.

Hey ho, who cares anyway..... She probably thought she'd got one over on me as I didn't really know what I was doing, but little does she know...............

Reply today says they're offering £195, which is less the interesticon of £12.69!!!!

And we have to accept that it goes to Metropolitan Collection Services who FD passed the account onto

You're absolutely correct, I stated in my lbaicon that I was appalled at the suggestion and they should send a cheque made out to me and include the interesticon - and they did
