E. Small Vs Clydesdale Bank (advice req) Hi all,
Recently my wife and I successfully claimed £1980 from halifax in refunded bank charges and so I thought I would give it a shot with the clydesdale.
I got two template letters from the net, they were successful with my wifes claim so i thought they would work with the clydesdale too... Not so it would appear, the tight scots bank is living up to its national stereotype and doing all it can to stall.
Anyway, I sent my first letter asking for the refund of charges, only to receive the standard "get stuffed" that you'll all have seen if you've tried the same thing.
So i sent the second letter, this time to receive a reply saying that they were "investigating" and that they would write to me after 4 weeks, but that if the investigation had not finished after 2 months, they would write again laying out what action was available to me.
So, my query is this....i'm out of templates. i didnt use the ones from this site as i didnt know about this site at the time of sending...i want to hurry them up as its been 4 weeks and surprise surprise..no letter has arrived.
I am going to send another letter but am not sure what to put in it.. e.g. threaten court action again...or actually take court action..or what? tbh because of my financial circumstances (just made redundant) i would take a settlement offer of a few hundred or whatever..
what do people think is the best way to proceed? Unfortunatley i didnt write to them to begin with asking how much the total charges were for the last 6 years...as this wasnt necessary for my wifes claim against halifax.
Any suggestions, advice or pointing me to a template letter that is appropriate would be much appreciated.
Cheers
