clydesdale pays up! I am in the fortunate position that I had all my statements for the last 5 years, so didn't have to go through the first process that so many of you are having hassles with.
I wrote to Clydesdale (Neil McKirdy, customer relations manager) on 1 August detailing all the charges, and reasons behind them, and received a letter today, dated 14 August, with a cheque attached.
A lot of blurb on it, and legal jargon, but basically he says that, if I cash this cheque, it is in full and final settlement of my claim, and it is 'tendered without admission of liability'.
Unfortunately, the cheque is only for half of my claim! Should I threaten further action, or cash the cheque, wite back to him saying 'thank you for the first instalment'.
My claim was for £498, he's sent a cheque for £249.
I know a couple of people are in similar situations, as I've read their threads, but can't remember who it was - sorry!
Any advice or help would be appreciated - do I cut and run, or hold out for more? |
