Default Charges with various people

Hi Everyone,

Hope your all well.

I use to be a nightmare when it came to finances. I was a student and took out credit cards, loans, overdrafts and all the other stuff that banks try and punt you with.

I've now got myself into a much better position and aim to be debt free by the end of the year. I can't wait!!

My biggest question is - should i try and trace back all the charges i've incured and try to pull something back?

I must have paid out thousands of pounds in charges but as my finances were so bad i don't have copies of statements and i have changed accounts etc. If an account has been closed, can i still get old statemnets from the banks?

Speak to you all soon,

Cheers,
Gordon..

Hello and Welcome, Gordon.

To get all your account history, you will have to send a Subject Access Request to the Origonal Creditor(Bank).

1. Data Protection Act, Subject Access Request letter - List of charges

Give them as much info as possible from the time you opened the account, Address you were at the time ect.

Have a look at the Step-by-Step.

Example Step-By-Step Instructions - Now updated to reflect the OFT court judgment

Remember, It's your cash and you will get it back

If you need any help, just shout. There's always someone around to help you out.

Regards.

Scott.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the advice.

Would you reccommend that i only did this for the bank accounts or for everything? Is it better to do one at a time to keep on top of everything?

cheers

Gordon

Hi, Gordon.

I'd do it with everything, in for a penny, in for a pound.

You can always keep a folder or something for each individual case.

Regards.

Scott.
