Unhappy My story so far with bank of Scotland

I wrote them the preliminary letter asking for the past 6 years statement and charges. They did reply with loads and loads of paper work very hard to understand.

My account at the moment is charged £28 pounds a month; this has been going on for the past year. These charges are because I am over the authorised overdraft limit. Before they started charged me the £28 a month, they used to apply a special interest rate which was just as bad if not worst.

When I received my statement, I asked for it back also regarding to this special interest rate they were applying to my account… hope I done the right thing.

However, there is another twist in the story…

About 5 years ago my account was moved to a third party (Blair, Oliver & Scott)
Since then I have agreed to pay £50 a month to clear my overdraft with them.
I have faithfully paid my £50 a month, but they never stopped charge me interest, and in the past year as I said before, they started charging me £28 a month.

I have phoned Blair, Oliver & Scott numerous occasion asking for an explanation to why I was getting charged, but the replied that it was not them charging me, but bank of Scotland. I have also phoned bank of Scotland different times, and they said that I will not get charged anymore; that it was a computer error.

I hope somebody can help me
Thanks

Hi!

I calculate that they have taken £205.50 in charges, plus £665.80 which they have charged me in unauthorised overdraft interest.
Subtotal: £871.30.

Another 2 x £28 charges are due to be added for the months of June and July, bringing the TOTAL AMOUNT to £927.30

Thanks alot for your help!

I don't know if you have sussed this but the third party you refer to (Blair, Oliver and Scott) aren't really a third party at all... I was recently directed to contact them to arrange a payment plan for an account - when I called the number it was answered by an automated system stating that the organisation was "Retail Bank Collections" (which is the internal collections department for HBOS)... it also occurred to me when I hung up the phone immediately that this is a similar tactic employed by the Student Loans Company who 'employ' a 'third party' called Smith, Lawson and Company. The giveaway seems to be the initials of the 'third party' Bank of Scotland (BOS) and Blair, Oliver and Scott (BOS) - Student Loans Company (SLC) and Smith, Lawson and Company (SLC)... so in conclusion, Blair etc are right to say that its Bank of Scotland that are charging you but they fail to mention that they ARE part of Bank of Scotland... cheeky monkeys...
